2020 has been quite the year! With travel restricted, many people have been staying local and exploring their own backyards. From leaf peeping to apple picking, there are many outdoor experiences that we look forward to year after year. This year, however, I encourage you to add outdoor dining to your list! For those of us based in or traveling to New England this fall, there are two New England outdoor dining experiences you really can’t miss!
Whispering Angel Culinary Garden at the Inn at Hastings Park
Located only 30 minutes from Boston in Lexington, Massachusetts, the Whispering Angel Culinary Garden is a truly magical experience. The hotel has set up an outdoor dining garden complete with baccarat crystal glassware, outdoor fire pits, heating lamps, and of course, massive bottles of rosé. If you are looking for a unique experience, I recommend contacting the hotel to set up your own outdoor dining experience. You can even request a cooking lesson from the Inn’s owner!
Also, because I know you are going to ask, the food is one of the best meals I have had in a long time. And they can even customize dishes for vegetarians like me!

Fondue Village at Ocean House, Rhode Island
The Fondue Village is a truly unique experience put on by the Ocean House in Westerly, Rhode Island. Every year the Ocean house decorates 3 gondolas to mentally take their guests on a ski trip to Switzerland. This 4 course meal includes a charcuterie plate, appetizer, fondue, and of course, dessert. And while the meal is truly delicious, the experience of cozying up for dinner in a gondola is truly unique! A perfect way to social distance and keep warm as the weather gets colder.
