Looking for a tropical escape now that the weather is turning cold? Then plan a vacation to the luxurious beachfront Marriott Cancun Resort in Mexico! With breathtaking ocean views and 10 on-property restaurants, the Marriott Cancun Resort is the perfect place to escape this winter.
How the Marriott Cancun Resort is Responding to the Virus
The first question that is on everyone’s mind these days is “is it safe?” You read the news or turn on your television and see multiple reports warning about international travel. As someone who recently returned home from Mexico I can tell you first hand that yes, I did feel safe during my visit.
The Marriott Cancun was awarded one of the first Safety Stamps by the World Travel and Tourism Council. Masks are required while on the hotel property and the resort is only operating at only 30%. Due to the low number of guests, there is lots of space to spread out at the beach and pool. Housekeeping is only available upon request which means that no one will enter your room unless they have your permission.
While traveling anywhere these days can be a risk, it put my mind at ease to know that the hotel was taking every precaution possible to keep their guests safe. Feel free read more about the specific steps Marriott Cancun is taking here.
The Hotel
Amenities
One of the best things about staying at the Marriott Cancun Resort is the amenities. In addition to providing guests with access to beach cabanas and a stunning pool with an ocean view, the resort includes an extensive fitness center, a spa with a well maintained sauna, and a gift shop where you can grab your morning coffee or green juice. While Cancun is a wonderful and lively city to explore, it is easy to spend your whole vacation in Mexico simply enjoying the amenities at the Marriott Cancun.
Restaurants
One of my favorite parts of staying at the Marriott Cancun is the wide variety of restaurant cuisine they offer on the property. The resort offers 10 separate dining locations. From traditional Italian dishes at Gustino’s to sushi at Mikado’s, the resort restaurants are some of the tastiest on the hotel strip! I highly recommend ordering a Pina colada as you swing on one of the hammocks at Sacbé Beach Shack, a Tulum inspired beach bar. It is one of the best ways to fully unwind on your vacation!

What To Do In Cancun
What is great about traveling to destination such as Cancun is that there seems to be an endless amount of activities to participate in. And the best part is that most of these experiences can be booked right at activities desk by the hotel pool!
Get Out on the Water
Whether you are looking to rent a jetski or charter a sailboat, I highly recommend getting out on the water while you are in Cancun. Most of these reservations can be made right at the hotel and operated through a company called Aquaworld. Aquaworld only a 7 minute walk across the street from the resort and has the most amazing staff to guide you on your excursions.

Take a Trip to Isla Mujeres
Isla Mujeres is a beautiful island located off the coast of Cancun. With some of the most stunning beaches in the world, Isla Mujeres has become a popular destination for tourists. Often, guided trip excursions to this island include parasailing and swimming with whale sharks.
Visit Tulum
Tulum is roughly 2 hours from Cancun and definitely worth a visit! Spend the day explore the Mayan Ruins or taking photos at the many Instagram-able sites.
Relax
Reserve a cabana on the beach, order a cocktail, and relax! You are on vacation after all!
