You have grown your audience, crafted the perfect pitch email, and even put together a beautiful media kit. You finally work up the nerve to push send to your favorite brand… And you never hear back.
You send a follow up email. Still nothing. What could have possibly gone wrong? Often times if you are not hearing back from a brand it is simply because you have sent your pitch to the wrong email address. If you want to land brand collaborations, the first step is simply making sure you are contacting the right person.
You would think that finding a marketing contact would be simple. And sometimes it is! But often times brands and especially hotels make it difficult to find the right contact to discuss a collaboration. That is why I am breaking down some of my go-to ways to find the right contact below.

Check The Website
Many brands will have the email for their marketing department right on their website. In the image below, you can see that this particular hotel has a separate section for media requests.
I want to note that when reaching out to a hotel, make sure you have the right email. Hotel emails that start with info@HotelName.com are usually send to the department in charge of helping guests book a trip. If no other email is listed, try one of my tips below.
Send the Brand an Email on Social Media
If no marketing email is listed on the website, try checking their social media. Many brands will have their PR email listed right in their bio.
If no email is listed, send the company a direct message on Instagram. Whoever is in charge of marketing is most likely running their social media as well. This way you know that you are at least emailing the right person.
Your message on Instagram should be brief. It can be as simple as saying “Hi there! Your hotel/ product looks beautiful. I especially love ___. I would love to discuss a collaboration. If you are interested, please let me know the best email to contact you at. Thanks!”
What is great about this method is that it allows whoever is in charge of social media partnerships to check out your account before you even send a pitch. They will be able to see your follower count and the aesthetic of your photos to know what to expect from you if you do collaborate.
Google Search
One way to find a contact is by searching the name of the company and “PR contact”. For many companies the PR contact will pop right up.
Call the Phone Number
While brands and hotels may not always have their marketing email on their website, they will have a phone number listed. Don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call the number to ask for their marketing email. If it helps, the number listed is often for their front desk or concierge and not for whoever you will be pitching. You don’t have to say who you are or why you are calling, just simply “Hi ___, I was wondering if you knew the best email to contact your marketing department?”
Search LinkedIn
If you know the name or position of the person you are trying to contact, search LinkedIn. Often times people have their email address listed on their profile.
Email the Info@CompanyName.com Email
If somehow all the above, send an email to whatever email address the company have listed on their website. Include in the beginning that you are looking to contact the marketing department. Even if the message goes to a different department, they will often forward your email to the right place.
