Spring has to be one of my favorite times to visit the Netherlands. Not only are the flower fields in bloom when you drive through Lisse, but the weather is finally nice enough to enjoy being outside. This past April during our trip to Paris, Sonya from @theglobalite and Jeanie from @traveljeanieous and I decided to rent a car and drive to Amsterdam.
Where To Stay
If you are visiting Amsterdam with a group, I highly recommend staying at the Kimpton Dewitt and requesting their “Little House” suite. The room spreads out over three floors and includes 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a living room, and a bar section with dining table. The setup provides more than enough space for everyone to spread out and enjoy their time in Amsterdam.
What To Do
With only a few days in Amsterdam, we spent most of our time wandering through the canal streets and visiting the cafes. If you are not able to make it to Lisse to see the flower fields I highly recommend checking out the floating flower market to get a taste of spring.
Where To Eat
Breakfast– During our mornings in Amsterdam we made sure to start the day off on a healthy note by getting breakfast from Joe and the Juice. One of my favorite things about their Amsterdam location is the Wisteria that decorates the outside of the building, making it a charming place to hang out and spend your mornings.
Dinner– If you are looking for a good meal with a great view look no further than De Belhamel. We were lucky enough to be seated at one of the coveted outdoor tables, but if you want to make sure that there will be one available for you I highly recommend calling ahead and making a reservation.
Dessert– Polaberry. This place truly speaks for itself. Their chocolates and strawberries are just as delicious as they look! Plus they have the cutest setup to take photos in their store.
