If you are looking for a family friendly getaway in New England this year, look no further than Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod. Located roughly an hour and a half from Boston, Ocean Edge Resort is the perfect getaway for those looking for a home away from home.
Lodging
Ocean Edge Resort includes an expansive property. Before choosing a room, I recommend knowing what activities you are looking to do during your stay. There is the beach side of the property, which includes the main lobby, 2 restaurants, tennis courts, bike rentals, and, of course, the beach. Across the street is the golf side of the resort which also includes bike rentals, a lake, and kayaks.
You honestly can’t go wrong with either side! We chose to stay on the golf side of the resort, but found we spent most of our time at the beach.
The great thing about many of the rooms at Ocean Edge Resort is that they make you feel as though you are in your own house. We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and an outdoor patio. I definitely felt as though I were in my own Cape Cod home!
Restaurants
There are 3 main restaurants on the property. The first, Ocean Terrace, is where we ate most of our meals and is located near the lobby. If you happen to go for dinner, make sure to book a table during sunset. You won’t want to miss this sky!
The resort also offers dining options on the beach at their beach bar and on the golf course at Linx Tavern.
This summer, Ocean Edge even offers guests the option of dining on their front lawn. I highly recommend trying the S’more Nachos! You can sit outside at one of their outdoor tables and enjoy live music. They even have a designated area for lawn games- great for entertaining young kids.
Activities
One of the best perks of visiting Ocean Edge is the number of amenities they have on the property. Guests can partake in archery lessons, schedule a tee time on the resort’s own gold course, swim in the ocean at the private beach, paddle around on kayaks at the lake, or rent bicycles to explore the bike path.
