If you are looking for a Caribbean escape look no further than the beautiful Calabash Cove Resort and Spa on the island of Saint Lucia. As an adults-only all-inclusive resort, Calabash Cove is one of the top places to stay in Saint Lucia and offers their guests a peaceful, kid-free escape from everyday life.
Calabash Cove is located towards the north of the Island, just over an hour long drive from Hewanorra International Airport. Upon arrival, I would highly recommend booking a helicopter transport to get you to your destination more quickly. Not only will you save an hour of your precious vacation time, but it is truly one of the best ways to see the island when you first arrive. I have linked the company we used here but you can also arrange the transportation through the hotel. You will only be able to bring one small piece of luggage with you on the helicopter so make sure to pack a bathing suit and sunblock! You will want both before your bags arrive.
Once you arrive at Calabash Cove, I highly recommend changing into your swimsuit and heading to the main pool. One of my favorite things about the property is that they have a swim up bar, the perfect setup to refuel from a long flight by ordering lunch and a cold drink (ps I highly recommend their Pina coladas!)
During our time at Calabash Cove, we stayed in one of the beautiful Water’s Edge Cottages. This cottage included a wrap around deck area with a private pool, a sitting area with a build in mini bar, an outdoor shower, an air conditioned bedroom, and of course an ocean view.
Calabash Cove is conveniently located on the beach. During their stay, guests of the resort gain free access to the Watersport activities offered, including paddle boards and kayaks.
However, if water sports aren’t your thing, I definitely recommend taking advantage of the spa and getting a massage overlooking the water. The resort also offers an indoor fitness center for those looking to stay in shape during their vacation.
While we definitely took advantage of room service during our time at Calabash Cove, I also recommend checking out the main hotel restaurant- it is tough to beat that view!
While there is plenty to do on property, if you are looking to explore the island one of the best things about Calabash Cove is that is is located close to town. Every Friday night there is a street party in Gros Islet with live music and plenty of drinks. Definitely worth checking out!
Lastly, I would highly recommend is spending at least one night watching the sunset from Calabash Cove’s beach dock. The colors of a Caribbean sunset truly can’t be beat.
